Our alumni are our best ambassadors. They tell the world about the quality international education they received at Illinois State University and how their International Business major prepared them for their careers. Our first International Business major graduated in 1981 with a contract major. Those were the days before the International Business major was formalized. Laura Bozich Allan went on to Thunderbird and started a successful international career with Tellabs in Europe where she set up offices in eastern Europe once the Berlin Wall had come down.

  • Laura Bozich Allen was the first International Business graduate. She did a contract major. After graduation, she went to Thunderbird School of International Business for a masters degree. After that she worked for Tellabs and developed their international offices for Eastern Europe. Laura now is on the Board of several not-for profit organizations.
  • Angie Nagel currently is the Personal Assistant to the CEO of PAI Partners in Germany.
  • JoBeth Borowiak is current a Commodity Merchandiser for Archer Daniels Midland.
  • Kristi Bina is a Revenue Analyst III for Caterpillar, Inc. in Germany. She is currently responsible for establishing prices and ensuring profitable sales on 25 models of Caterpillar machines.
  • Jeff Aasgarrd, president of Rediscover Travel Inc. and Rediscover Japan Co., Ltd., started Japanese Guest Houses in 2000 which helps non-Japanese make reservations at Japanese inns (ryokans). Japanese Guest Houses has a staff of 10 people and make over $5 million in reservations each year. In 2006, he opened an office in the US which acts as marketing support and sells tours to Japan.
