New in 2010 and created by the Illinois State Alumni in Finance organization, the quali-fications for the award are a minimum 3.35 overall GPA, a strong interest in investments and intentions on pursuing a career in an investment-related field, leadership in co-curricular activities within the University and the College of Business, and leadership in the community through charity and active volunteering. The award also includes the invitation to visit a member of the ISAF network, in a professional setting.

In 2008, the Baxter Credit Union, Vernon Hills, IL, created the Jordan Styx Memorial Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to finance majors. Jordan Matthew Styx, of Ingleside, IL, was a 2006 Illinois State University grad-uate with a major in Finance, Treasurer of the Financial Management Association student organization, and a competitor in the pole vault for the Illinois State University track team. At the time of his death, Jordan Styx was an employee of the Baxter Credit Union.

The award is an internship opportunity in Illinois State University's Office of Finance and Planning, working with the ISU Comptroller on treasury management issues. The criterion for the internship is an interest in treasury management, successful coursework in Short-term Financial Management and academic performance. The internship is funded by the sponsor.
The scholarship is presented to a graduating senior, or an MBA student, who has par-ticipated in the Finance course that prepares students to take the Chartered Financial Analyst Level I exam, administered by the Association for Investment Management and Research. The scholarship consists of a waiver of the fees normally required of those who sit for the Level I exam. Admission to the CFA review course, offered in the spring semester each year, is by invitation only, with criteria centered almost entirely on aca-demic success, particularly in Finance and related course work.
