For a senior majoring in MQM with a 3.3 or higher GPA and 90 or more completed hours; selection of recipient is based on evidence of service to the university. Candidates are nominated by faculty from the Department of Management and Quantitative Methods each spring; the department awards committee reviews candidates' credentials and selects the recipient.
For a junior or senior majoring in International Business with a 3.3 GPA or higher and at least 60 hours completed, 15 of which must have been completed at ISU. Students must show leadership in the IB program, the IB Club, and other international activities. Eligible students are identified each spring and are invited to apply for the award. The department awards committee reviews the applications and selects the recipient.
The ISU-SHRM service award recipient is voted on by the chapter’s student members. Individuals are nominated from the floor, and each nominee is invited to present a brief statement concerning their service to the chapter. Nominees must have a 3.3 GPA or higher. An election determines the recipient.
For a junior or senior in an MQM program with a 3.3 GPA or higher
For a junior Management major in good standing with Illinois State University. To be considered for the award, applicants must complete an online scholarship application form and a two-page personal statement. The personal statement should include a description of the applicant’s background, including his/her GPA, and internship and/or work experiences, involvement with student organizations, and any other relevant extra-curricular activities. It must also include a discussion of the applicant’s career goals and a brief statement on how this scholarship will impact his/her academic future and career goals.
For a Management major in the Organizational Leadership sequence with a 3.3 GPA or higher.
For a student in good standing with Illinois State University who is majoring in business and participating in a study abroad program or completing an internship abroad. Applicants must watch a PowerPoint presentation on the life of Matt Busey prior to applying for the scholarship. Applicants must submit a one to two page personal statement describing:
For a sophomore, junior, or senior with a major or minor in International Business and a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher who is an active member of the ISU chapter of the International Business Club, has shown leadership in campus and/or community activities, shown a commitment to civic engagement through involvement in community service and civic activities. Nominees should submit a resume including the names and contact information for two references. The award is to be used for educational expenses. The award money will be credited to the recipient’s account with Illinois State University.
For a junior majoring in International Business with a 3.3 GPA or higher and 70-89 hours completed, 15 of which must have been completed at ISU. Students must show substantial commitment and service to the College and University, and must expect to be a student at ISU for at least one year after award is made. Eligible students are identified each spring and are invited to apply for the award. The department awards committee reviews the applications and selects the recipient.
For a junior majoring in Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management with a 3.3 GPA or higher and at least 62 hours completed, 20 hours of which must have been completed at Illinois State; must have completed at least three (3) hours in the MQM Department. Eligible students are identified each spring and are invited to apply for the award. The department awards committee reviews the applications and selects the recipient.

Annual award for the outstanding senior graduating in the ESB sequence of the MQM major. Recipients must be graduating in May, August, or December of the calendar year; be an Illinois State University student with a declared major in ESB; and have an overall GPA of 3.3 or higher with at least 20 hours completed at Illinois State. The recipient is selected by the department awards committee. In addition to the academic criteria, the committee takes into consideration involvement in Entrepreneurship activities and exhibited leadership and professionalism.
For a senior majoring in Business Administration with a 3.3 or higher GPA and at least 90 hours completed, 30 of which must have been completed at ISU; must have completed at least six (6) hours in MQM courses. Students who meet the established criteria each spring are invited to apply for the award. The department awards committee reviews the applications and selects the recipient.
