Faculty/Staff Technology Support

"The Faculty & Technology Resource Office is a one-stop college support center for technology and publishing. Working in conjunction with many University services, the staff is charged with supporting the teaching, research, and day to day operations of the faculty, staff, and students of the college.

The technology staff works to support faculty and staff by providing network storage/access, software to meet both teaching and research needs, and up-to-date computer equipment configured to provide a seamless environment between offices and the classroom."

- Scott Christner, Technology Director

Faculty/Staff Desktop Publishing Support

Formerly known as The Faculty Resource Center (FRC), the resource staff supports the faculty, staff, departments, and RSOs of the COB by providing duplicating and desktop publishing services. The staff has a combined 30 years of experience in printing, graphics, photography, editing, proofing, manuscript preparation, software applications, materials and print production. They design, proof, format and print simple to complex projects working 1 on 1 with faculty/staff/students. Projects range from the simple 1 page handout for the classroom to more complicated production jobs that involve cutting, binding, photographs, original logos, various paper stock, layouts, color and b&w printing for recruitment, surveys, and special events. Whatever the need, the resource staff can make it happen.

Student Support

We provide direct support in the State Farm Hall of Business Building for all students taking College of Business classes. This is accomplished through management of computer labs and classrooms that support every software package used by any instructor within the college. This often means over 30 major and unique packages are installed on each computer and range from MSOffice 2007 to advanced programming languages for our Business Information Systems students.

OFFICE and OUTLOOK upgrade - finding your new icons

Office 2007 icons missing? Don't worry; it's good news - your system has been upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010. Please use the following resources to begin using the new Office:

  • To begin using the new Office, click on the Start menu, All Programs, and Microsoft Office. The new icons look like the examples above.
  • Outlook will ask if you want it to be your primary email program - say Yes. Click Yes or OK to the defaults and it will set itself up.
  • You may want to "pin" your favorites, like Outlook or Excel, to the Task Bar. Just right-click on the icon and select "Pin to Taskbar "
  • If you had any Office 2007 icons on your desktop or Task bar,
they will go blank like this:
    Simply delete the old icons.
  • Here's a 10-minute video by Scott Christner Introducing Microsoft Office 2010
